This is what I want her to remember.

This is a great short articleby Chris Cummins, Contributor to Design Aglow, Images by Elizabeth Messina about Family portraits and a child's self-esteem...

I am the world's worst about being in the picture with my child. When I see pictures of myself I'm very critical, I see all the imperfections. I see how old I look compared to just 5 years ago. I see only the bad. But, that's NOT what our daughter see's. She tells me all the time, you look "bootiful" she points out my pretty eyelashes, lips, eyebrows...

She see's me as "funny mommy" "nice mommy" "pretty mommy" "silly mommy" she see's me how I wish I could see myself. I wish I could dial back the clock about 10 years, but we all know that's not going to happen. So, I will do my best to keep up with this beautiful, creative, active, inquisitive, loving, friendly, smart, happy, blessing of a miracle child. I will keep teaching her it's not how you look on the outside, it's what's on the inside that matters. And I vow to be in her pictures more, even if like this one with no makeup and a selfie sitting in the front yard...

Because this is how I want her to remember me.
